WELL DESIGN

Best practice and a primary component in an informed Water Well Construction Project

To meet the production needs of the customer, we use information gathered during the Exploratory drilling phase of the project to design wells optimized for the subsurface geology of site.

Information used includes the driller’s descriptive log, sieve analysis results of production zones and the geophysical log of the test hole. In a nutshell, these show the depth ranges of water-bearing formations as well as their particle composition, to guide the selection and placement of perforated casing sections, annular gravel pack and sanitary seals of the cased well to be constructed.Designs of cased wells are completed and then reviewed by the customer before the next phase of drilling resumes or construction materials are ordered.

At Eaton Drilling, the design determines the materials used; we do not compromise good design principles for the sake of convenience. We also go to great lengths to eliminate hasty decisions made in the field. All construction plans ensure that each well is completed in full accordance with its customer-approved design. Well construction crews receive careful oversight and are required to communicate their progress with the design team throughout the construction process.
